I don't know what Steam messed up again!!! Now there are five games I can't update due to this error.

Deinstall and Install not working
workshop is not the problem

Captain of Industry, Shapez 2, Brotato, Anno 2205, and Noble Fates.

It's probably the Steam servers' fault, not the game developers' updates.

Content server unreachable, This mean traffic from you never reach steam server or back from them to you, ask own ISP

Make sure its not own pc or network issue with it, test with spare pc or friends laptop can be seen as a very good idea.

Content server unreachable, route to its service seem get DC or route path to it is not there.

Maybe own ISP had a upgrade aka fiberwork and reconfiguration do not work.

Reboot own router and wait for wan light is up again then turn on pc , this is from 3 to 12 max 15 minute. ( this is not a random nr its know as 5 switch nr. with arp table, multi user in buildings. )

just incase Toppology has change.
I restarted my router and PC, but there was no change.
Downloading other game updates works, but the others that are having problems are at 50% download time, and then the problems start.

Now Timberborn too

yeah, that is why. Steam doesn't support win7 anymore and now issues start to surface. Upgrade to at least 10, better 11 or switch to Linux and use Steam's Proton solution.

Then use Linux Mint which also supports Steam and can run most Windows only titles using Proton.

Valve ended support for Win7 January 2024

Valve have changed their data compression algorithm, new content uploaded to Steam has the new compression applied to it, old Steam clients are incompatible with the change:

Could see how things go using SteamCMD to download the games:
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD
Updating to download game updates is a problem.

Here's an example:

Railgrade says it needs 10.4 MB of update, 3 MB downloaded, 98% updated, 7.4 MB download missing.

With other game updates, the 10.4 MB value starts to increase, up to about five times the value.

Steam do not support win7, its ends there. and we other can't test this for you then we don't have that system offcial anymore, belucky if some that has a VM win7 someday that might test or help you.

we could also said why have you not upgrade to win10 a long time ago, win10 run better then any win7, that has been proven alongtime ago. win10 run on very lowend pc better then win7.
many do not know this. but it was proofed years ago, around 2019-2020.
