Your account is compromised. The scammer automatically closes your Support tickets.
Follow the steps posted by Aluvard to secure your account.
This is a user forum. No Valve employees here.
Steam does not return stolen items anyway.
Steam Item Restoration Policy
My account is not compromised. I personally confirmed the trade between two of my own accounts, and I still have full access to both.
There were no strange logins, no Steam Guard alerts, and no changes to email, password, or phone number.
The issue I’m facing is a bug or error on Steam’s backend, where:
The trade was accepted and removed the items from one account
But it never delivered them to the other
And Steam-Support tickets get auto-closed, likely by a bot system, not a scammer
Just wanted to correct that — because spreading the idea that a “scammer is closing your tickets” could confuse others.
I appreciate the input either way!
@Lilim
Even if answer from Support is "No"; they'll always respond.
I personally confirmed the trade via the Steam Mobile Authenticator between two of my own accounts. There was no delay, no changed offer, and no second trade.
There was only one accepted trade, and I have screenshots showing:
The trade is visible in the sender’s trade history
The items are gone from that account
But they never arrived on the second account
This isn’t a case of a “switched trade offer” — it's a trade that Steam accepted, but never completed properly.
Also, Steam does auto-close tickets without replying, especially when submitted under certain categories (like Trade Help). This is widely known and confirmed by many users.
I know what a scam trade looks like — this isn’t one.
Again, thanks for your input, but I’m confident this is a backend issue on Steam’s side.
steam guard is just extra protection like body armor. it does not make an account invulnerable to being stolen/compromised just like body armor does not make you immune to being killed.
hijackers dont need to change the password, they have a bot that waits till a good enough trade is made then steal it.
check your APIKEY, if there is something there, you have a problem
No matter what you think the second account is compromised. Once inside they do NOT need to lock you out of the account. When you sent a trade to your second account the hijackers BOT cancelled it. It then modified their account to look like your second account and resent the trade all with a few seconds so you didn't notice a delay. You then ignored the warning about the target NOT being a friend and confirmed the trade.
Do all of these to secure you second account
Scan for Malware/virus https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/
Deauthorize all devices https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage
Change your Account password on a secure device, mobile phone for example.
Generate new back up codes https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage
Revoke the API key https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/dev/apikey

Thank you for the information. I didn’t know about this method before, and I understand now how I got tricked.
I’ve already started following the steps you posted (revoked API, reset password, etc.).
If there's any way you know that could help me recover the items, I’d be super grateful – even if it's just advice for contacting Steam again the right way.
Thanks again for taking the time to explain.
Your items are gone.
You can contact support again after securing your account but they will not restore your items.
In accordance with Section 1 C of the Steam Subscriber Agreement, you are fully responsible for all actions on your account, no matter who used the account. This includes actions that occurred as the consequence of fraudulent account access by phishing or malware, be it input relay, session token theft or any other method that granted a third party access to your account.

Closed by a Malicious Individual
''A ticket can be considered to have been maliciously closed when someone other than the person submitting the ticket closes it.
If your support tickets are being closed without response from the Steam Support team, and you're not closing them yourself, it's likely that someone else is closing them - perhaps maliciously. In the very rare cases where this happens, it can usually be attributed to an account hijacker that is trying to make recovery difficult for the account owner. While this is a serious situation when it comes up, it's also usually a simple matter of securing your computer and email account before getting back in touch with Steam Support to recover your Steam account''
I didn’t know about these methods before and now I understand that my second account was probably compromised too.
I’ll make sure to fully secure my accounts (API, Authenticator, password, backup codes, etc.).
I get now that the chances of recovering the items are very low or not possible, but I still really appreciate your help and time.
I’ll try to contact support again only after securing everything properly.
Thanks again – I learned my lesson the hard way, but I really value your support.
