"Add funds to Steam Wallet", I canceled transaction, Visa gift card still says "pending"
attempted to add funds to steam account with a visa gift card, then I cancelled it on steam as it took over 15 minutes and nothing happened. I had CANCELED the transaction-- completely on steam.

Figuring I was fine, I decided to just buy the games instead of using the "add funds" to my "steam wallet". Then, THAT transaction failed due to insufficient funds.

I checked my balance for my card, it says that the first purchase to add funds to steam wallet is "pending." The original balance on the card, which was 100, is listed as 0. I know I was impatient, but...

Did the transaction go through?

Will it be refunded/canceled to my gift card automatically-- eventually? If so, WHEN?

Should I file for a refund on the card to the holder?

I wanted to buy games while steam had the summer sale. I know nothing about steam wallet and desperately need help.
---
I will continue to check the balance of the card and my steam wallet for the next 10 days. If I do not see any difference, I will report a problem with the card. Hopefully, I can get a refund and get this dumb problem of my own creation fixed.

To help other stupid people like me in the future, I will reply later with what happens and/or recommended actions to take.

It will be a day or 3 before the transaction on your card to drop off and the money released back for you to use.

It's been three days. Still no change.

That's just the average time.

Then how long is it going to be? I deleted it straight out of my purchase history. I'm beginning to think on calling the number on the card as the website doesn't do anything.

Read the linked info.

I called the number on the card, after about 10 minutes of explaining, we resulted to waiting for the transaction thing to time out. I'll have access sometime on July 4th.
If I don't by July 5th, I will call them again. Hope this conversation helps some people. And thank you Hatsauce for your help. If you don't hear anything from this discussion again, it worked.
