Traffic caused by a car accident is a reminder of how easy it is to die on your way to work, but that doesn't stop people from driving. We can't be constantly anxious about everything all the time, or most of us would never leave the house. My Steam library has been just fine for over twenty years now. Half my life. (Lol. Half Life.) I have no reason to believe it's going anywhere any time soon, and temporary outages really aren't a concern.
As for OP. Yeah. Summer sale. Servers are on fire.
I had hoped that this would prompt consumers to not put all their eggs in one basket, but gaming in current year has shown that this is clearly not the case.
Hell, Steam isn't my first platform for singleplayer games unless it's exclusive to the storefront. As unlikely as it is to happen in most cases, I'd honestly go for day-one GOG releases if the option is there.
