Trading offer
Hi, can someone help me, because i'm really confused.. So, 2 weeks ago i made a trade with my friend but he didn't accept it.. the thing is that now i don t have my items in my inventory anymore, him also.. and i don't know what to do. Do you have any idea if i will get them back, or they are permanently removed from my inventory? (btw, it's about cs2)

Rejected trades ALWAYS return to the inventory -- where else would they go?

Something else was happening. Go to your Inventory -> Trade Offers; aside from the recent activity that might still be visible there you'll also find a Trade History link.

Sounds like a trade redirect from a compromised account.

Secure your account. All steps...

Scan for malware. https://www.malwarebytes.com/ or with whatever.

Deauthorize all devices https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage

Change your password on a secure device.

Generate new back up codes. https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage

Revoke the api key (this should be empty) https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/dev/apikey

Read the Steam Item Restoration Policy.

Immediately. Again, a rejected trade is rejected; Steam might be penalizing people for not wanting to use the app, but they are not doing that for rejected trades.

Also, your trade offer page shows a count of your item hold as well, like "Incoming Offers 0 pending 5 on hold".

Check your trade history. It sounds like your account is compromised and a bot that was logged into your account canceled the original trade and immediately created a duplicate of the trade which was directed to a different account. So you would see two copies of the original trade, one canceled and one that was accepted but going to someone else's account.

You got scammed. Steam will never ask you this.

The ONLY way you can contact Steam support and through which you will receive official answers is through https://steamhost.cn/help_steampowered_com and no other way.

Anyone claiming to be from Valve contacting you through Discord or other means is a scammer.

Your account is compromised. Perform the steps Hotsauce told you in post #3.

Steam Support will not restore stolen items nor stolen wallet funds.
In accordance with Section 1 C of the Steam Subscriber Agreement, you are fully responsible for all actions on your account, no matter who used the account. This includes actions that occurred as the consequence of fraudulent account access by phishing or malware, be it input relay, session token theft or any other method that granted a third party access to your account.

Did that happen? Because that's definitely a scam... they basically took over your account, but then they have to make you initiate a trade with lots of stuff, so they invent these "resetting the account" and "your items will all be gone unless you save them yourself" stories.

Why did you leave out this information in your opening post?

Valve (Steam) employees will never communicate with you about your account using any chat system including Steam Chat and Discord.

Have you already secured your account (see post #3)?
