Steam's customer care response
I paid $5000 to steam customer care and that person to lift my account ban and protect my account for a few days.

And I was told that I would be refunded after the process was over, but I was told by the person that I should pay an additional $5000.

Is this a scam?
Or,Is this a scam?

Or is it the right thing to do?

If it is a scam, I think I should talk to the police.

I am looking forward to your opinions.

EDIT: There is no game ban / VAC ban on this account, so I'm guessing this is just an attempt to get Jester rewards.
nah. OP's got an impostor in their friendlist. Looks like they really sent 5k USD. good gods..

This type of scam usually comes with a fake video of a "pending ban" on the person's account.

There is also a scam account pretending to be 'customer care' that the OP fell for.

Their account is worth $5 and they've just paid a scammer $5000:steamfacepalm:

I spent $5k, and another $350 spent with metamask.
So they want crypto too, and none of this looked fishy to you?

It is scam and you should talk to your bank.

So you've given a scammer $5350 and was intending to give them another $5000 for the sake of a $5 account?

Wow, just wow..... Over 5k for absolutely nothing, can't believe people fall for this crap

OP, as others have said, contact your payment method and see if you can get the charges reversed, hopefully it's not too late

Stop responding to the thread and GO CALL YOUR BANK.

Cancel those $5350.

I'm surprised, that his bank doesn't have procedures to flag suspicious transactions.
Do you know how to contact Steam support about scam?

Please help me.
