This game is installed on a drive that is not currently connected
My D drive broke and I replaced it. Now I'm getting the message in the title. How can I get rid of the message?

Check windows if program had added itself there,
Next step can be complicated, depend on the app. when you dont have uninstall prog. that is also gone.

I had to DL uninstall app in the past, or did i use CCleaner to wipe windows registration data base about that game

Also why CCleaner has a unistall option or delete it. ( sometime apps like that make it much easier to deal with burnout content system still see. )

This is know as scan for windows registration alot of windows user know and get ride of leftovers or things not there anymore.

I just hope you know what CCleaner is and stick to default option, do not change option you have no clue what they are doing its a professonal tool app. same as enter windows registation require knowhow in how to do.

And thats ewhy app was made to make it easier then own manual search.
and yes we know the aggresive marketing apps do today. also why many do not like apps anymore.

The registry uses app ids and I don't know which app id is which game. I also already reinstalled my games onto a new drive with the same letter. Maybe it will go away on its own. I'm pretty sure CCleaner installs adware these days.

Exatly why many hate them offers, you problem is do you have 100+ or more games or not
so app can actual scan alot of things not there anymore.

This was a suggestion, no one like to do 100+ fix one by one anymore.

It usually matches the number in the address bar for the store page.

There's a portable version of CCleaner if you don't want to install it.
However, I think Revo Uninstaller is a better option.

Can it uninstall a game from a drive that no longer exists?

If it still appears in the Programs and Features list, Revo will seek out any registry entries and files associated with the game. With the files on a disconnected drive it would be treated the same as though you already deleted them.

None of the games show up as installed and CCleaner can't find them. Only Steam remembers that they were installed.

At this point the best CCleaner could do is check for invalid registry entries.
Since only Steam shows it as installed...
Right-click on the game in the library > Manage > Uninstall

I only get the message when I install the game. It tells me that it's already installed on another drive, but it lets me install the game on a new drive anyway.

OP you should know we both say samethings windows see them as installed and depend on how many 100+ game that use windows registration, the task to uninstall per game is possible

There are other apps out there both we dont remember all apps and can they scan Windows regi database for leftover entries in windows,

I also remember gary utilities in the past, but what apps can do all or per game uninstall things like that, we as user forget over time what each app can do.

Even Iobit uninstaller, you have many options here, this is not about uninstall app, this is clean windows regi leftovers system still see and of things not there.

gl with it.

ps.
in very old day ppl might even reinstall OS anyway because that drive that had all the games on slave disk and they geta clean windows in top of this, but thats your call in what and how you will adr the burnout disk.

Try this:
  1. Exit Steam (Steam -> Exit).
  2. Open the file "libraryfolders.vdf" with notepad from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps.
  3. Look toward the end of the text for something that looks like:
    "1" { "path" "D:\\SteamLibrary" "label" "" "contentid" "*******************" "totalsize" "*******************" "update_clean_bytes_tally" "0" "time_last_update_verified" "0" "apps" { "*****" "***********" "******" "***********" "*******" "***********" "********" "***********" } }
  4. Delete those lines
  5. Save the file.
  6. Start Steam.
  7. Check that all games that were installed in drive D show in the Library as not installed (grey).
  8. Go to Settings -> Storage and click the box at the top of the window with the blue downward pointing carat.
  9. Select "+ Add Drive" and choose Drive D.
  10. Exit and Restart Steam.
  11. Test to see if problem persists.
