I’m from Iraq, and recently a lot of our local bank and credit cards stopped working for international transactions — which means I can’t directly add funds to my Steam Wallet anymore.

As a workaround, I’ve been looking into Steam gift cards. The problem is, most of the digital gift cards I can find here are in AED (United Arab Emirates Dirham), not in USD or IQD.

My Steam store is set to Iraq, but the currency it uses is USD.
I contacted Steam Support about whether I can redeem an AED Steam gift card, but their answer wasn’t really helpful.

So I’m asking here:
If I redeem a Steam gift card in AED on my USD Steam account, will the value be converted automatically? Or will it not work at all?

If anyone’s dealt with this or knows how it works, I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks!
