Question: Can i gift a steam digital card using my steam wallet funds?
I was wondering if i could use my steam wallet fund to gift a steam digital gift card to a friend. I never did this before. Can i do it? It keeps asking me for a payment method.

No. You can not use your Steam Wallet funds to buy a digital gift card.

Yea i saw it. I never did it before and a friend asked me to buy them one. We have workaround though. I buy the games and gift it to them.

Just be careful because Valve/Steam does not like it if you use Steam Wallet funds to buy game gifts for other accounts. Wallet funds are supposed to be mainly used for your own account and if you use them to buy gifts more then once or twice your account will most likely be flagged for suspicion of trying to transfer money between accounts.
If that happens you wont be able to buy gifts anymore with wallet funds just with external payment methods.
Just as a fair warning.

Thanks. Hope that does not happen to me. I just ran into regional pricing different issue, so i think we cannot do it anymore, so i think we are done anyways. I only gifted them about 3 games. If it does, i will deal with steam support. They should see the last time i gifted was probably like last year. I do not do it that often.

I honestly thought i could buy them a digital gift card with wallet funds. If i knew that did not work, i would of just gifted them the game to begin with. So no worries.

Reason why that does not work is the same, it would allow the transfer of wallet funds between accounts, something that Steam is strictly against.
Because they would need a banking license in many countries if they allowed that.
Also money laundering laws and so on.
