No licences after the latest update

After the latest update, Call of Duty fails to launch showing and error that states that I have no licences. How do I fix this?

Verify the game files and see if that solves the issue.

Right click game > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of games files

It's an error that regularly crops up on Steam, I've usually experienced it with demo's because they messed up on one specific screen so you could click a download button even though the demo hadn't actually been released.

I've only seen this happen in the new CoD titles when the "free trial" DLC was checked in the DLC section of the games details page in your library.
