Cloud saves not showing up on other device
My friend recently got herself a ROG Ally. For all but maybe one or two of her games, the cloud saves she already had do not show up. Her saves are all there and synced to the cloud on her desktop. But when she launches them on her Ally, there is no save data and there are no error messages or anything. I’ve made sure that cloud saving was enabled. I’ve had her disable and re-enable cloud saves and reset everything, I’ve verified the integrity of the games/files, I even did a factory reset of her Ally. I have the same ROG Ally and have never had this issue so I’m at a complete loss for what to do at this point.

The could saves for windows and linux devices is going to be different, unless the game developer has configured their could save to handle this correctly

Only if its actually a native Linux version. Running the game with Proton or any other Windows-Emulator will run the Windows game, which will obviously get the Windows files.

Also, files *can* specific to operating systems, but they need not be.

As an example, and I have to way to test this, let's look at 2 random games that I have cloud files for, that both have native Linux versions:

[***] command> list-files 35720 35720 ("Trine 2") has 4 files: "options_v200" | 52 bytes | 2013-07-06 22:13:21 | All "slot1_v200" | 152.2 KiB | 2013-08-27 01:49:19 | All ...

These would likely load on the Linux version of the game.

However:

[***] command> list-files 440540 440540 ("Ara Fell: Enhanced Edition") has 13 files: "%WinAppDataLocalLow%Stegosoft Games/Ara Fell/Save02 - c3ac5083-1b33-413d-a843-61da89d9d515.json" | 734.8 KiB | 2020-11-30 00:05:50 | Windows "%WinAppDataLocalLow%Stegosoft Games/Ara Fell/Save02 - c3ac5083-1b33-413d-a843-61da89d9d515.json.meta" | 45.8 KiB | 2020-11-30 00:05:50 | Windows ...

These would likely only load on the Windows version of the game.

Both devices are running windows, I believe the same version.
