I recently noticed that my steam notifications are not exactly 100% reliable. (The list that pops up when you click on the green bell at top right of steam client window).

There will randomly be notifications that just don't show up. It's inconsistent, most notifications will show up just fine, but occasionally random ones wont show up.

For example - i'll sub to a forum thread, and then the next day when I check my notifications, that thread won't be highlighted in the notifications list (meaning steam thinks there's been no new posts) - but when I look at the actual thread, there has been new posts.

It also happens randomly with new posts in forums that i'm subscribed to. So for example I often sub to the Events & Announcements section of Early Access games, as a way to see when they post about their 1.0 release.

PS - I think this behaviour in steam may have been going on for at least 2 years, but i've only just picked up on it recently by accident, and was able to test it and observe it happen on a few occasions. But as I said it's random, so it took a week of watching steam, to actually observe it.

So i'm just wondering if anyone else has observed this with their steam ?
