HELP NEEDED: Weird Ps4 controller Bug on steam
So recently i've gotten a ps4 controller and wanted to test it on my pc, i use it as wired and when i start playing it works most of the time, until i press the ps button when playing on big picture mode. all of a sudden the controller just bugged out, the steam menu doesn't show up, it kept saying "Game recording marker added", for some reason it kept holding the up button pad, and the LED light just dies

I always have to Disconnect the controller and plug it back in order to work again.

i've previously used a Ps3 controller before this and installed SCPDrivers to work properly. checking other forums within the same topic says it was indeed the problem with the third party drivers, just wanting to make sure if it was correct before i end the life support of my Ps3 controller to my pc.

Anyone can give me some help please?

Update: Apparently after doing some more testing it turns out to have way more weird issues than i anticipated. i tried to follow up tutorials like installing DS4Windows (doesn't work and it makes the problem worse) then i decided to disable and re-enable the controller through the device manager, and somewhere while i did all of those, now sometimes the DS4 just disconnects and reconnect upon normal play and idling. i then tested by disabling steam inputs, and magically the ps button doesn't cause anymore issues but the controller still disconnects and reconnects from time to time, so its caused by the steam inputs, but yet still unable to find any fixes and what steps needed if the culprit was the steam input translation

Valid Advice, but I need more of a solution to this problem, thanks

UPDATE 2: Yeah it turns out it was not the steam inputs fault, testing it with other games that came with a DS4 support natively just yields the same effect with the ps button, prior use of using the DS3 controller works perfectly fine, there are no issues with the controller having spasms when pressing the ps button. i am really not sure what's the case here other than some sort of a driver issue or just actual problems with the controller itself

UPDATE 3: i found one of the dumbest and most obnoxious workaround to this, so while i was further testing it i tried to use the controller on my android phone with bluetooth, it works flawlessly and then i thought "what if i use my phone and connect it to my pc using steam link while the controller is connected to my phone?". That somehow and surprisingly fixes the issue, the ps button works flawlessly and an added bonus of the touchpad working as those laptop touchpads by controlling the mouse (i know that you might be able to set this up on steam input templates, but dude this one came out of the box), but from this demonstration i am not sure whether the reason was still the third party driver or was in fact steam's input having a stroke, will check further and document my find until other people assist me towards this problem

UPDATE 3.5: I tried to connect the controller wired using an OTG cable (USB-C to USB-A). and testing it with the gamepad tester (which i did on the pc and prior to this). this one is different. apparently it yields the same outcome as what happened to pc, the ps button just causes problems, so this isn't about the third party drivers nor steam inputs fault, its probably the cable's fault, alternatively i could just buy a USB bluetooth dongle. but for now i'll try to just switch to another cable and see how that goes
