Refunding a Gifted Game
A friend gifted me NBA 2k25 (I dont have a credit card), after downloading and playing it for literally less than a minut of actual gameplay I've realised my computer cant run the game. Due to hours of loading shaders (not actual gameplay time) it says I've played for about 3,5 hours which exceeds the 2 hour refund policy. I was wondering if my friend could get the refund for the game due to it not being 2 hours of actual game time.
Thanks in advanced!

All playtime counts... Any time the game is running, that counts for the 2 hours.

Make a manual refund ticket.

Steps:
1. YOU go into steam help page > games > search for NBA 2k25 > refunds > CHECK the box wanting to refund gift.

2. Your friend MUST go to their purchase history > select the game NBA 2k25 that they gifted to you > choose "I have a question about this purchase" then explain clearly, no beating around the bush, no excuses, don't lead support reading a page long essay just keep it simple not hard.

It then becomes upto support to decide to approve refund, or not since you're outside the 2hr gameplay mark, so best of luck.

You have to refund the game first. Then your friend has to request a refund. However since you're over the policy limits you'll be denied automatically. You'll have to do a manual refund ticket where you select "I still have questions about this purchase", where you politely outline your circumstances. It's at Valve's discretion whether to refund you or not.

In the future, there's a lot of ways to get an idea how well your kompewter will run a game. It would save you from at least a few scenarios like this.
