Cant offer More!

I want to buy an item on the Steam Market for €1,800.
I have €1,865 in credit.
However, when I try to place an offer on the market, I can only bid €1,714.
Why can many other players bid €1,800?

Currency values. Euro is stronger than the currency of the item the user listed.

Unless the currency conversion changes, no one will be able to get that item as it currently exceeds $1800 in value.

Earlier in the year, the exchange between € and $ was much closer to 1:1 than it is now.

A lot of listings like this are from Canadian accounts since their currency is weaker.

It's also why more people have complained they can't switch their country to Canada specifically the past 6 months.
