many know Full performance in power scematic. ( your gpu card and pc was build for 100% not 80% performance. ( check that battety Icon in windows controll panel, this is not a joke. )
most laptop user made many mistake in this, but gaming laptop also know to switch to Full performance then game needed it. ) same goes with desktop pc, we just don't talk about it.
To run with lesser power also increas the heat and cpu power to get done with the task.
heat is a funny thing, then pc is already up there and room is hot, things like be longer in calculating is actual not helping.
if you have ever seen a server room or It-hall, you will know heat and operating temparature effect how things run.
