Possible scam?
So I just got contacted by someone who says that I had bought a really expensive item from marketplace. He says he reported my account to get banned and in order to appeal the ban I have to add a "Steam support" account as a friend and appeal the ban that way.

I have not received any notifications about any kind of ban and I dont have anything out of the ordinary in my purchase history.

Should I be reporting these accounts?

You had the common sense to ask before you went ahead with anything, if more people did the same, these type of scams wouldn't exist.
