Slow Steam download speed despite fast internet
Hello ive been using steam for years now and this is the first time ive encountered the issue wherein my download speeds are incredibly slow despite my speedtests and downloads on other applications being stable. This first appeared to me when I tried to download Delta Force and despite my speedtest showing me that I should have atleast a 30mb/s speed it was a crawling pace of less than 1mb/s. I though this might be a disk writing speed issue so I found a fix where I used link shell extension so that I can essentially piggyback the download cache on another disk while installing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIf5Ae0iWew)

Then today I tried to download ready or not which was a much smaller game at 38gb and despite still using the fix I initially used with delta force I am now experiencing now even slower download speeds and its taking forever. im at my wit's end of why this is happening and ive tried changing download servers and Duplex and speed settings. as well as trying other SSDs on my device, clearing download cache it all results in the same slow download speed.

I have a similar problem often where my steam download speed is locked at 3-5 mb/s when I usually get 11 mb/s.
When I fully restart my computer and the first thing I open afterwards is steam then it usually works normally again. Sometimes I have to do it twice but it goes back up to 11 mb/s.
(It has to be a restart and not shut down because shutting it down sometimes only puts some services on standby in the background).

From what I read your problem might be different but you never know...
hope it helps you too

Make steam ticket, something is up, so many random issue with speed allot point at our ISP, but who know if this is not a steam issue.

Change all back, if this work fine before let steam figureout this themself , we cant keep going and blaim all ISP cant deliver it to steam servers.

ps.
all this seem to happedn around the change algorithem with compressing for 1gb lines, if its related or not i cant say.

Make sure you BIOS and Chipset driver is update, you do not want a issue with CPU caculation= dealing with unpack ration, so you pc cant keep up, or have OS or other worst idea with compressed files out CPU do, ( yea its sounds crasy , but its actual our pc that send msg to steam hey i cant keep up if you cant handle the incoming data fast enough, why every steam user is on the diffrent hardware and CPU, this is complicated and we dont have the big picture here as steam users.

all pc user can see DL act odd like its try to install a game and dl and write speed seem to fadeout, ( how come you can push next DL up to get bandwide back or pause it or take other DL or go back to past DL and it will get faster done with a DL ( again not so easy then we dont have same hardware in disk and how our pc deal with unpacking files or get done with write to disk.

i know it sounds crazy in what i did, only tell us there is a odd easy with like a task fadeout or start up again then its like task need a refresh. ( thats crazy talk ) im not many will get this requie some experience in pc to know what i did, and also raise a issue why do that work at all.

See steam DL sections option.
I also recommend use DL from Anyone, also mean multi source DL to ourself and others

This means if your ISP has other steam user at own ISP network, that DL transfer is a local ISP to you should be a even faster fetching data.
