when you say he "bought an account", do you mean he made a steam account and bought the game or that he bought an account that had the game on it? one is fine, the other is a violation of the SSA and the owner of the account can take back the account when ever they wish.
I would advise going over ground rules for what can and cannot be downloaded to the family computer. you are responsible for the security of your account. the computer gets keylogger on it, that is your problem, not steams.
As for your question, I don't think it will affect you at all.
your brother is unlikely to have what steam wants. you may want to do a chargeback on your brothers purchase of the account and get your card replaced.
