How to check steam gift mensage history?

Some years ago a friend of mine gave a game as a gift, I have managed to find when and what he gave me and I redeemed. But I dont remember the mensage he send me with the gift. He died not long after that and I wanted to remember what he said but I can find the mensage. I did manage to find that I can read the mensages of the gifts I gave but not from the gifts I received, the email steam send me has long been deleted as was the print of the mensage.
As his account no longer exist, steam turned his account into a number ( I only know it's his account because of the nickname I gave him) and if you try to see his profile it says that he was banned for more than a year ago.
Anyone knows if I can see that mensage again and if yes, how I can see that again?

Check your mailbox.

It also include the message from gifters.

Thanks for the mensage, but I've deleted the email, I cleaned my mailbox and at the time I had a .png saved, but I've lost that as well (I lost the HDD where the .png was).
