I've had a repeated issue that I finally understand what the problem is, except everything tried to fix it has no effect. Steam is detecting an Xbox controller that doesn't exist. I've never owned an Xbox controller in my life. In the instance I'm having, I'm trying to play Metal Gear Solid V with a PlayStation controller. It doesn't matter if its a PS4 or PS5 controller, I get this issue with both. I get past the first screen, and then steam is switching the input to the Xbox controller locking me out of having controls. Disabling or uninstalling the Xbox controller in device manager notes to restart my PC to finish, however it auto reinstalls when booted up. Ending the game and restarting has about a 10% chance that it doesn't switch to this ghost controller. Does anyone have a suggestion on what this controller is and how to disable it permanently?
