My account was recently locked because I had commented a third party name on a trader's profile. I waited for almost 3 hours but the trader did not accept the trade offer, so I decided to gently nudge the trade by commenting on his profile.
I got a red alert telling my account has an alert. It stated that my account wasn't banned but restricted from all activities and trade till 2038. My heart sunk as I read the message, immediately contacted Steam Support and the issue was resolved within 10 hours.
Did anyone face this issue? Or anyone still have their account locked?
I have heard someone people telling they lost their account permanently.

You don't lose your account from trade bans. Nor from community-wise bans, for that matter.

Sounds like a type of scam to me. People have been known to change people's avatar pictures and such if they have access to their account. Do you have any API's active GamingRAMA?

API key field should be blank. It has some uses but it is mostly used by scam sites to monitor accounts so they can determine who to target and when. This aspect should only be used by people who know its function and whereby it has a clear intended use.

Yes man! Thankfully I just received a message telling it was a warning and any future repeating will lead to lock account again. They did not tell it was a serious issue, but strictly asked me not to repeat it. Looks like Steam hates to hear about third party sites here.
