Running games on 2 clients
I generally use 2 Steam clients. But whenever I want to start a game on the 2nd client while there's still a paused game running on the 1st client, I get an error message. I could fully understand this limitation if it was about not running the same game twice, but this happens even with different games that I bought individually.
Is there any way around this limitation, other than start buying games on different accounts or other platforms than Steam?

Use multiple accounts and Steam Family. The limitation is intentional to prevent account sharing.

Even easier, don't pause the game. Exit it.

OP "other platforms than Steam?"
Game devs might use same configuration save loctions in windows so Technicaly game devs never though a user will buy same game on diffrent clent platform, this is why you have issue with some of them.

THIS IS NOT DOS AGE anymore, with a single folder game for all its files and configuation.
ppl have complain cant find save game, this ius why its not with game own folder, only very old games do this. ( or game devs that do not know better, if somehow a new game do this.

Note the prefacing "other than" part, meaning I am looking for other ways than that. But installing the same game on the same device twice wasn't really part of the plan anyway, just buying games on other platforms than steam in order to avoid the mentioned limitation.
You will have to play at least one of the games in offline mode.
