Game devs might use same configuration save loctions in windows so Technicaly game devs never though a user will buy same game on diffrent clent platform, this is why you have issue with some of them.
THIS IS NOT DOS AGE anymore, with a single folder game for all its files and configuation.
ppl have complain cant find save game, this ius why its not with game own folder, only very old games do this. ( or game devs that do not know better, if somehow a new game do this.
The question is essentially how not having to do that.
Note the prefacing "other than" part, meaning I am looking for other ways than that. But installing the same game on the same device twice wasn't really part of the plan anyway, just buying games on other platforms than steam in order to avoid the mentioned limitation.
