I am trying to reset a specific file of my game (animal populations in Hunter: Call of the Wild) with the following process:

1. Turn off steam cloud
2. Delete population files
3. Boot game to reload new versions of the file
4. Close game and turn on steam cloud again
5. Choose local files when prompted to fix the cloud file conflict

The issue is that in step 5, I am not getting the same pop-up where I would choose local files. Instead, I am getting one that says "Retry sync" or "Close" and if I hit anything except close, it redownloads the old file that steam cloud has, rendering the process entirely useless.

Does anyone know a way to get the proper pop-up that lets you choose local files? Alternatively, a way to wipe the steam cloud files for Hunter:COTW and redownload the new version of the files from my local drive?
