Secondly, it is an old game ~25 years old. So... there's a bunch of general old game fixes you can try, Windows compatibility mode and whatnot. Have you tried anything to resolve the issue? If so what, you know so people don't suggest things you've already tried.

There's probably other Unreal Tournament resources/forums out there too, since Epic removed the game from Steam years ago it's no surprise the Steam forum is dead. But, it's also a very old game and the number of active users is bound to be low so you may just need some patience for responses too. Because asking for help about a 25 year old game almost no one plays on a more active forum doesn't really increase your chances that anyone has specific knowledge even if responses come faster.
After all, all I'm offering are very standard general troubleshooting tips/resources. Nothing special. Nothing you really need anyone to tell you if you're resourceful on any level.
