I can't download or update and the reason keeps on changing
Just as the title says. So I'm currently trying to update PUBG and Fall Guys while downloading REPO. But I't seems like the bar stuck at the same percentage everytime and It keeps giving me different reason everytime.

This image for example, and if I retry, the reason will be changed (PUBG become corrupt download, REPO become content unavailable etc.). I have tried:

- Change server region
- clear cache
- open administration
- disable antivirus stuff

My laptop also currently have more than 200GB left of storage, so there's no way it's because of storage. I'm so lost right now.

I've also been having trouble downloading and updating games for a few weeks now. I'm not the only one. It seems to be happening to people regardless of their OS. I think it's intentional and it feels like we are losing access to games we paid for. I'm not really happy about it and I'm not willing to spend another dollar on Steam until they fix the issues.

I also did every single thing you did and I'm still having trouble updating and downloading games.
I tired using DepotDownlaod and maanegd ot install Steamworks Rediustributables. Tought that wuold fix my problem, and it looked like it did.. it stared to download Space Marine 2.

But stopped at 93% with the same error.
Tried agian, downlod resumed, but altough my nework is working and steam is showing downlaoding, it's been sitting at 93% for hours.

WTF? WTF Steam?
How long does it take you to fix this?
Trough how many hoops do I have to jump to get to my games I paid for?

Win10 64 LTSC b.t.w.

Note that other games don't want to download/update at all.
Interestingly enough, I did downalod the depot files for another smaller game, placed in the steam downalods folder, and the download and installation started working for it - but it had ot download the game again (even tough I had all the files???)

tldr is steam changed something on the backend related to downloads. New updates uses this new system, but the old steam clients ( window 7 clients) cant utilize it. Pretty crappy since steam always forces games to update, which will render them unusable for older steam clients.

technically you can keep playing old games that never updates since may 2025.

Your easiest way to tackle problems like this is to trim down the issue step by step.

So what happens when you try to do each individual task separately instead of altogether?
