Hi, hope everyone reading this is doing well.
I’ve had issues for some time with my Steam microphone.

Basically, I want to play Garry's Mod and SCP: Containment Breach, which are two games that use voice chat.
But my problem is that when I launch Garry's Mod, my external mic is detected for 30 seconds to 2 minutes — then my voice fades out and eventually stops working completely.

As for SCP: Containment Breach, I’m not heard by the game at all, even right after launch.

When I open the overlay and go into [In-game Voice], my voice isn’t being detected either. But if I go into the [Voice] settings and select the external mic, it’s still working.

This issue only happens with my external microphone — with the internal one, I don’t have this problem at all!

Can someone help me by any chance, please? I’m posting this here because it seems to be related to Steam, and not the microphone or the games themselves.
