Game I didn't purchase has ended up on my steam account, I've never heard of it until now.
Recently, I was looking through my steam library, when I noticed a new game on it called Abyssal Blade. Seems like a small game, celebrating its 1k copies sold, and it's worth $5, but I myself never bought it. It was on July 28th, says I got it from the Steam Store but there's not a charge on my card, and it says I also wishlisted it on that day. The issue is that I, at the time, know exactly what I had done on that day, which was buy a completely different game known as Of the Devil, which I played much more and even posted about. So I seriously have no idea why I own this game. There's no trial on it or anything, I just have it.

Well if you suspect someone else may have access to your account you could do the following steps to secure your account:

1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://steamhost.cn/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)

Could it be possible that when you brought Of the Devil, that it was a bundle deal that included Abyssal Blade?

Have you checked your purchase history on steam https://steamhost.cn/account/history/
Sometimes developers also give out free games to people who buy one game, for advertising of their game too. This has happened to me when buying one game, i was gifted another one by the developer, or they had a giveaway where they gave it randomly to people who bought the xxx game by them. Mostly this is done by INDIE developers. The only one that ever did this from a triple a company is probably bethesda with the elder scroll versions they did one time giving it free if you had the original game plus all the dlc.

Yes, I have, there wasn't a bundle deal between these two, though.
They were purchased actually a day apart, now that I check. Although I know for a fact I was continuing my session, not buying new games.

This makes sense, but I would've gotten a notification of some sort. I did not get a notification nor do I ever remember adding it to my wishlist, which, as I mentioned earlier, it says I added it to the day I bought it.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks for the reply. All the above appears fine, no cause for concern, so at this point im just thoroughly confused. I dont intend to try and refund the game as I dont want to take support from an indie developer. Thanks for the assistance otherwise.

Did you actually do the steps? Because game purchases don't randomly happen without cause. If you didn't buy it, someone did.
You should still be (at the moment) within the 14 day refund window, so you could always ask for your money back.

But also, make sure to do the previous listed steps to secure your account. Just to make sure there's not someone else logged in somewhere.

I did, yeah. I cannot find any reason for concern. No log ins at any related times, no APIs, no changed data. It's all clean. There was one log in that I didnt quite recognize, but that was last used several months ago (This device also lines up exactly with mine, despite being from a separate location), and I have since changed my login data following that event. I'm serious, I dunno what's up.
