Contact Steam Support if you have not and ask what the issue is from their end.

Contact your bank, or credit card company and ask what the issue is from their end.

Contact PayPal and ask why Steam is no longer supported.

Check credit card/bank statement for approval, credit card company banks can cancel or delay transactions.

In order to use PayPal, your store currency must be EUR, CAD, GBP, JPY, AUD or USD and your PayPal account must support payment in one of these currencies.
PayPal is unavailable for other currencies at this time.

PayPal use on Steam is currently unavailable in my currency. Why?
In early July 2025, PayPal notified Valve that their acquiring bank for payment transactions in certain currencies was immediately terminating the processing of any transactions related to Steam. This affects Steam purchases using PayPal in currencies other than EUR, CAD, GBP, JPY, AUD and USD.

We hope to offer PayPal as an option for these currencies in the future but the timeline is uncertain. We are also evaluating adding additional payment methods on Steam for the customers affected by this.

In the meantime, please use one of our other current payment methods during checkout. If you can't use any of the available options, you can consider using a Steam Wallet code to add funds to your account.

I see, that explain why but either way I can't buy any games for now. Thanks you for the info.
Let me just purchase games in USD if other currencies are affected..

Valve would have to reform how store regions work as they only support one currency per store region.

That's a technical error. Canadian Dollars are still supported.

Try again later.
Are you on VPN? Try turning it off.
Is online purchases activated for your card?
Are you auto fillling your card details? Try manually entering them.

If this doesnt work check with Steam and Mastercard.

There was some drama recently between Mastercard/Visa and Steam regarding NSFW games, not sure if anything has actually happened with this outside of US as Trump signed a bill which should stop MC/Visa from rejecting payments.
