Embarrassing situation with the worst company: Rockstar games
I'm in a ridiculous situation: I have a rockstar social club account linked to my steam account and no one is able to unlink them.

I contacted Steam and they told me to contact Rockstar support because it's their responsibility, but Rockstar still doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥.

This is the sixth ticket I've opened with them, and they tell me I can do it by accessing my email. The problem is that the email address my Social Club account is connected to no longer exists, the email provider no longer exists, it's been deleted!

I don't care about keeping the license of the Rockstar games that I have in my library, I just want to remove any connection between this Steam account of mine, which I care about, and that dry manure of social club account. Also because if I try to open a Rockstar game it asks me to log in to that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ social club, and what if I buy a new game on Steam? Same thing.

So I don't care if I lose access to my old games, I'd at least like to be able to buy new ones without having to ask for a refund because I'm being asked to log in to an email I used when I was still a pubic-free virgin boy.

Is it possible that Steam would allow something like this? That is, that its customers' accounts are being held hostage by Rockstar? That company wants me to buy games directly from the Rockstar Social Club and no longer be able to use or purchase games through the Steam platform, through which they do business.

Six times I've opened a ticket, six times they've closed it after asking me for account informations, which I've provided, and then they closed it with a stupid automated message ending the conversation. They just don't seem to care. I know people who've solved it, but many others haven't. The fact is that in 30 years of gaming, Rockstar is the company I've been treated the worst by, considering I received the only ban of my life from them, on GTA Online, years ago, without having done a damn thing wrong. I've even asked for explanations and they didn't care, just like today with this other problem. ♥♥♥♥ Rockstar and their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ games.

Just recover your Rockstar account, you may have to send them proof you own their games and the steam account associated with the account.

Tell me, how do I recover, when they ask me for information and I provide it (email; nickname; any account ID linked to it), they simply close the ticket saying they couldn't verify that I'm the owner of the account? If I'm the owner of the linked Steam account, I'm also the owner of the social club account, right? Anyway, they don't give me the chance to elaborate since they close the ticket, preventing further communication. It sucks, there's not much else to say.

The funny thing is, I want nothing more than to separate my Steam account from my Rockstar account. So what does Rockstar care? If I lose access to games on Steam, it will affect my Steam account, not the eventually other guy owning Rockstar account. I'm also wondering why Steam can't intervene directly, given that it primarily affects the Steam account if i loose games in my steam library. Instead, they sent me to Rockstar Support. However, since Rockstar Support is non-existent, I'm going to start stalking Steam now, when i find out a way to directly communicate with them.

The linking is done on Rockstar's end. Steam Support can not unlink it from this side.

In order to modify a rockstar account, which is what you're wanting to do by unlinking Steam, only the account owner should be allowed to. Presumably the account owner should be able to access their account, or be able to recover it.

If your case is that it's literally impossible for you to recover the account or prove ownership, then you won't be able to make changes to it no matter how inconvenient you find that to be.

The lesson is, regardless of how silly or unimportant you think an account is. Unless not being able to access it literally will never matter to you, dot your i's and cross your t's when it comes to maintaining account access. That might be a tough lesson you're just learning now, but don't forget to learn it regardless of what the outcome is.

And there's not one thing that Steam can do. As frustrating as it is, Rockstar is the only one that can fix this for you. And, yes, they are not known for being incredibly helpful in this regard.

You also need to make sure you can even do this as a lot of services like this will not let you unlink your account and link a new one to the same steam account if your account on their platform has gotten a game ban to make it harder for people to bypass the bans they get.

You know what? What you said got me thinking. This might be the difference why some users are helped to recover their accounts and ignoring others, like me. The ban issue and also the fact that my email hasn't existed for years and therefore they might have problems verifying it themselves.

In any case, it's even more annoying because it means being slapped in the face as a customer without having done anything. Years ago, when GTA Online was full of cheaters, ruining the experience for all users, I was banned without having done anything. First, a temporary ban, which I appealed by writing to support, but they didn't listen to me like they are now. Every time the temporary ban expired and I rejoined the game, I was immediately banned again, until the third permanent ban, which even forced me to buy the game again. All this without ever having installed any cheats or paid for any boost service. I had received some GTA Dollars, like everyone else, against my will, since there were cheaters firing bags of money with miniguns. I can only testify this: in 30 years of gaming, I have never received a ban, or such disrespectful treatment from any company, only ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games did this to me.
