Just a gentle reminder that some of the biggest security breaches come from within the breached entity itself; such as the disclosure of our own personal information as STEAM users including names and numbers which connect respectively to our billing information, home addresses, and far more.
When we fail to record these incidences we trust our security and its maintenance to faceless employees who are completely invulnerable to any kind of repercussions - or worse, anonymous third party associates of the companies involved.
A better suggestion would be to stop buying products from third party companies that permit this kind of activity. Does anyone walk into a big box store with security measures on their identity and personal information? What other form of middle-man merchant does such a TERRIBLE job of protecting their clients?
What's most ridiculous is that they have normalized this as a cultural expectation rather than cleaning themselves up. If you cannot protect your clientele you have no business doing business.
