Anyone else using Bandcam recorder
Si i am trying to experiment with different settings to get file sizes down as I noticed some of my recordings for games are small while others blow up heaps, for example a unity horror game might be only 800Mb - 2gb for 15 minutes while another game, recording 15 minutes might blow up to 4-5GB.

So looking at the settings of Bandicam I changed the sound fro m 48000 to 44100 and then changed the FPS (Frame Rates) from my usual 120 to 59, I had a look back at my new recording this morning and the file size was way smaller which I liked and the qualty didn't decline as far as I can see on my recording, quality and sound still looked and sounded good.

So I am curious if anyone else using bandicam and what FPS setting or sound quality they are using and if I should make the FPS smaller than 59 or just leave it at 59? I am happy at the moment with 59FPS

Used to, not anymore. You should ask on the tool forum, people using it are way more likely to be there than here.

That said, for non-interactive video, 60 FPS (or 59, for that matter) are absolutely & totally enough.

I have tried other recorders but disliked them, I used XBOX Game Bar, didnt like that as it doesnt really tell me when recording or not, and doesnt have sound notification for start and stop like Bandicam does which I like.

I put this under help and tips as I figured someone might know. I think 59 FPS looks good so far :)

When I changed it some time back to 120FPS the file sizes bloated out, like I do know one short recording of 1 minute 40 bloated out to 2GB -4GB I was like WHAT...hence why i changed it back to 59, also my 2 hard drive spaces are getting less and less so need to clear up.

Have you tried using Steam recordings as an alternative?

didnt know steam had their own recorder? I remember using MOVAVI recorder, urgh that was like sharewre, it puts a mark on your videos output you cant remove and each recording was only limited to 10 minutes a time so at the 9 minute mark I always had to stop recording and start again. Bandicam I am happy with as it does the job, I think 59 FPS is doing ok as file sizes seem to be ok.

When I had it on 120 FPS small unity games from Itchio, the output file sizes for 3-4 minutes recording would be big a 4-5GB each which seems crazy

Still a beta feature but works pretty good. Pretty performance friendly too.

Ah so you prob have to pay for it.

I hated that other recorder that OBS Studio...That was the worst and the quality of the recordings was terrible

Depends on your hardware; I run a few test runs with different format/codec on bandicam to verify smoothness/quality.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
