Only steam games crash
i have:
4070 ti super
i9-14900kf
32 gb ram
850w pcu
msi motherboard

very odd and i cannot find a solution. I'm having a problem with steam games only, for example; EFT and arena breakout run perfectly fine no crashes what so ever. when I try to play games on steam like destiny 2 or R6, i cannot get past the loading screen sometimes, if i do get into the game as soon as i load anything it crashes. I don't get any error codes, no crash reports, nothing. I've tried changing multiple settings through steam, I've tried DDU (safe mode) uninstalling drivers and re installing, cleaning pc, firewall settings, check integrity of steam and games, cleared cache and uninstalled shaders. only thing I've changed in BIOS was XMP. i haven't done any overclocking. i feel like i have been having this issue for awhile now(few months) but after opening and crashing the game so many times it tends to work, until a big update comes out or a new driver is downloaded it all happens again. i feel like i have tried everything and cant find a solution to this. Im thinking it cannot be my build because i can run other games perfectly fine but im not to sure.

Edit: disabling turbo mode in bios seemed to work for now.

Well, have you tried reinstalling Steam? Are there any games launched from Steam that function without issue. You named two, which is hardly a significant list.

And also for perspective what other games are you running?

Yes I have uninstalled steam and reinstalled. Other steam games this has happened with are black ops 6, cs2, liars bar. Games that have worked that aren't downloaded from steam are overwatch, valorant, gears of war 5. I have only had this pc for a year now. i try not to keep it cluttered with games and downloads.

I'm having the exact same problem, and it has only started happening recently. Every game outside of steam works, and the only two that do not crash on steam is a trivia game I play with friends and Aim Labs. I also have a 4070 ti and a Ryzen 9 5900x wit 32GB RAM.
