Problem with Steam Installation

Recently after the new Steam Beta logging into Steam has been a challenge. It keeps giving me the error that there is a problem with my Steam installation. I had to completely reinstall Steam before by all the files.

Again, I try to open it, and it gives me the same error. Before I got this error, but it went away when I restarted my computer.

If anyone knows any solutions please tell me. Thanks!

my friend hade this last week he couldent download the instaer what we did is download the instaler on a other computer and put it on a flash drive and instaled steam from there

Try adding -clearbeta to your steam shortcut, and then launching through that.

So the shortcut target field should read something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -clearbeta

Remove -clearbeta after you start steam so you can get back in if you want.

I just got a new computer yesterday and finally set it up today, after downloading and running the steam install, it starts to update and gets to like 30-50% and closes and then I get "steam error please reinstall steam"

I'm having the same exact issue. I'll try uninstalling it then install it again and see what happens, but I'm not very optimistic.

Lots of us have same issue. I'm not able to run steam on my old computer and new one as well, there is problem with update after beta community client was released. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Same, originally I couldn't play a game without it freezing, mostly from Steam. Now I can't reinstall at all!

OMG this time the update was sooooooo close (lol) to 100% then it crashed again. AHHHHH

Same problem here, i can't install steam. I tried to change the shortcut target but is not working...

Same issues here omg I need to play some San Andreas! x)
Fix this Steam! I go crazy when i'm not playing games.

I started getting this error about 3 days ago after ~2pm in my time, I relogged on steam and it just crashed. Reinstalled it 5 times, cleared registry...tried deleted both 'tier0_s.dll' and 'tier0_s64.dll', the -clearbeta doesnt work. :\
