Some Games YES, Somes Games NOP.
"WTF".- I have installed “STEAM” client, in a laptop (Asus N55SL-DS71, intel core i7, 2.20 gh, 1920 × 1080 Full HD, 8gb Ram, 750 gb HDD, Nvidia GeForce GT 635M Graphics, Windows 7 Ultimate.
STEAM, Client installed perfectly.
Then, I downloaded Neverwinter Nights 2, and Skyrim, and the games never worked (Failed to start Error Code 51).
Tried all the possible solutions recommended in the specific: Game Failed to Start (error code 51)/ Error Messages/troubleshooting section of STEAM support.
Well, everything but disabling all Background Applications.
I choose to uninstall and reinstall STEAM.
Again, the STEAM Client installed perfectly.
This time I Downloaded a demo (Magical Diary), it runs perfectly, downloaded Team Fortress 2, it runs perfectly. Not a single problem running the demo and "TF2".
Then buy and downloaded a full game (KOTOR II) but can´t set the game to run (Failed to start Error Code 51).
How come I can perfectly play the demos and Team Fortre2, but not the other full paid games?
Ideas?
P.S.- By the way, my laptop runs any “non steam version” modern game.

@bohemioabogado - hey did you resolve your issue with steam because I have exactly the same hardware as you and i'm encountering the same problems, just wondered if you'd found a workaround

No. I have tried every possible solution listed in the troubleshooting section, even disabled the background programs, and still not working. I gave up. Still playing the old pc.

@bohemioabogado - many thanks for responding so quickly, yeh it looks like I'm just going to be using STEAM on my desktop and on the ASUS I'll use the ORIGIN and Gamefly instead because both of them seem to work fine

found a solution. go to nvidia.com and dowload latest driver for 635m, everything should work after that. it would appear that Asus have very old drivers on their site - hope this helps - regards
