Allow us to block groups
Like we can with users, I would like to block entire groups and those that participate in them. :ix_life:

why? if your not in the group, then it would be pointless.
I don't see the point of blocking groups since all of them are opt-in.

I mean block everyone who HAS opted in to said group. Like a "Block this group and all of its participants" button.

why?

User need a personal echo chamber.
Mass blocking all group members might trigger cooldowns, knowing Valve. They have a rate limit for everything.

And what's the chance you'll ever interact at all with ALL the members of a group to have them all blocked?

Also, wasn't there a block limit anyway?

Slim to none.

I think someone complained it was only 3k.

Edit: It was 30k...

The scenario I’d see it being used in would be to deal with a group being used to coordinate harassment against a user.

But if they’d probably figure a way around it.

User isn't allowed to talk to people he wants to talk to them or else he'll get banned. I've been told by mods to block users I find problematic. If I find hate groups that steam won't shut down am I not allowed to do what the mods tell me to do?

You can talk to people, but show some restraint and don't go flying off the handle with insults if the other person happens to disagree with you.

Well golly gee thanks mister! Such useful advice...are you a therapist?
For example, I would love to block everyone that's part of any group containing the word "woke". I do not believe these people bring any sort of value to a conversation, but instead make steam a worse place for everyone. It's quite an arduous process doing it one member at a time.

How could a group coordinate harassment of a user? What would be an example of how they might do this?

Seems like an imaginary issue that already has suitable solutions: blocking, unfriending people who bother you, etc.
