Why's it so hard to see my subscribed discussions?
I seem to subscribe to discussions all the time, but whenever I log in to Steam, I have no idea where they are or what subscribing even mattered.
Can you make them easier to find and see what of those have had replies?
Where the heck are they???

its not hard to find that out, top left, next to your account username on the left, is a Bell icon, click it. Problem solved.

Good to know once you know it, but that drop down is always full of mixed info, so I've never cognitively linked this to "This is where my subscribed discussions appear".

For UX reasons, they should probably separate out each category of bell notifications into their own drop down menu (Subscribed Discussions, Wishlist, New Inventory Items, etc).

You mean the old notifications where the separate sections were static in the dropdown menu?

:nkCool:
I lost all my subscriptions. Dont get any of them anymore. Since last Tuesday. Nothing at all in the bell.

Look in the "support" section. Here:

I like to think that you can see your subscriptions there.

You should receive a notification anytime somebody replies to a discussion, or writes something in a comment field that you are subscribed to. If you subscribed to this discussion, you should've gotten a notification because of our replies.

That's how it always functioned, and how it should function.
But you may also run into bugs and glitches when using Steam. If something isn't functioning as expected, that could very well be a glitch or a bug. Bugs and glitches just happen. They're quite common, and they are not always explainable. Even though there must be an explanation for them.

My complaint was mostly about the crap UX of the Steam interface. I don't always spend a lot of time in the discussion pages, but if I have a bout of convos, I feel like Steam doesn't really encourage me to find those alerts when my notifications buttons was previously just about Wishlists and inventory.

Even clicking on the notifcations button opens a tiny little box with the text of each entry cut-off, even though I have plenty of screen space for it to show me so much more useful information. And then if I go to Community > Home or Community > Discussions, there's nothing obvious there to let me select just my Subscribed discussions. And if I go to a particular game's discussion board, nothing there highlights my subscriptions in a clear and obvious way.

And yet any discussion that we've subscribed to is clearly something we are invested in. We've gone out of our way to participate in something that would likely draw us back if we're just clearly reminded of it.

Is this interface so obtuse about it that subscribed discussions can really only be found in the notifications button??

It's just not a smooth, intuitive and helpful design.
