You not wanting to camp your browser on a Twitch channel for a couple of hours to get some unique pixels in a game is nobody's problem but your own.
And as much as it may suck, FOMO is a very tangible thing devs use to boost sales.
At a time when games weight into the hundreds of gigabytes. a space used by a couple in-game items are a drop in the ocean
Timed exclusives not being available to purchase after the timed event ends is not going to change and Valve can not force dev/pubs to change this.
Even Valve themselves has done this.
Take Diablo III on the Battlenet app for example. You either engaged in and take part in a Season whilst it is available and obtain xyz rewards or you do not.
If you do not engage then you opted not to have those xyz rewards so why should you then receive them when others took the time to actually obtain them, when the whole point of a Season is to drive engagement and challenge those who want to see their name on a leaderboard.
I personally have zero rewards from any Season because it is a mechanic i have zero interest in.
