We should have the option to delete them after the sale ends do to unable to complete the badge. It is really frustrating to see the badge location and unable to sell, buy and or trade for the cards that are left. Steam implemented the hide video game feature from friends. Why not a delete badge option or hide badge option for incomplete or no longer available badges. Or just in general let us trade to complete them or get rid of them.

I'm pretty sure that if you don't have a complete set of cards, they will eventually be deleted. However, if you do have a complete set (or multiple), the only way to get rid of them is to craft the badge until you don't have enough cards anymore.

Valve gives everyone a month (after the sales event) to clear out any remaining event cards from their inventory, in one way or another. Dump them on the market for whatever will they will instantly sell for, turn them into gems, or find people in the 'Steam Trading Cards Group' looking for them and trade them away. If you need to, schedule a reminder a few days before they expire so you can clear out any remaining ones. Since they don't do free cards for the Discovery Queue anymore, I had mine cleared out about 3 days into the sale since I got them all on day 1.

Valve purges incomplete sets at some point. They usually purge them before the next seasonal sale begins. Sometimes they don't, but they will eventually. One day you'll see them in your badges page, the next day you won't.

Well I guess the ones with the cards incomplete they take longer good to know.
