Ragebait AI User in the Forum
Hi, people thought about it for quite some time and with the rise of AI it was just a question of time until we get it. It was quite obvious that this exists for at least a year now.

So here is the deal. People in this forum noticed a rise in user responding similar to AI, dozens of accounts writing the same stuff, creating similar threads. Those write rage bait posts all day long. You can see them mainly in the counter strike 2 subforum. Their goal is to bait people and then report them. This way many people get banned daily.

Muktipke üeople created threads about this over the past years, til recently at least "people" did it, now AI is doing it.

Someone send me a github link woth said bot from the creator. I will not link it here because of obvious reasons.

So. Uhm. Since we now know that our suspicion is actually reality - is valve gonna adress it? Will valve clear out the ban logs of people who fell victim to it? Will they do something against people using it? Or will valve stay silent about it?

Either way. I aswell as nearly every other person who liked to post in the subforum stopped - years ago. Just because of them. And all that anger and timewaste because someone with an AI ragebait bot used it and even tho our suspicion was right valve never listend to us.

Well. My suggestion is to either close that sub or do something about it. There already exist measures to spot AI so what will it be?

Which are wildly inconsistent, with a lot of false positives. Some of those ai detectors are so bad that doing the opposite of their assessment can be more accurate for the more modern AI models.
Valve knows about the chat bots spamming the CS2 game hub. They have yet to care about them.

They have yet to care about just about any abuse.
They use it in OT as well.

I would advise to just stop posting in that game subforum and also in OT.

Valve, and Steam, are not going to do anything about it...even though it goes against their own rules of "no bullying, harassment, etc.", so by that very logic, they should be banned, or fix their moderation.

They won't.

In fact, I will go as far as to say you could sue them over it.
Nobody's ban logs need to be cleared. It doesn't matter whether it's AI or a human - if you give them what they want by engaging, and breaking the rules while doing so, then the ban is deserved.

Do not engage. Report, block, and move on.
I dont even get rage baited. I will post something totally innocuous and get banned.

It would be akin to me getting banned for this post itself, for example.
I would just mute the accounts, it’s unlikely valve will do anything about it. Their moderation and supprt system is completely inept and there is no motivation for them to change it when they face no meaningful competition.
oh we have a lot of rage bait bots on the offtopic forum as well
Gotta bad bait problem?

Don't take the bad bait.

Problem solved.
Hello, I am an AI user. Please don't do this. It will waste a lot of CPU cycles and lead to enhanced global warming!
Most users here see nothing morally wrong with rage bait, or any reason that it should be considered a violation of the rules or need to be removed. Valve tends to moderate in a manner as though they agree.

It also doesn't help that most people think 'disagreeing with me' and 'providing evidence I'm not right' is rage bait.
I find myself posting less and less because of all the A.I.-generated slop comments/threads and rage-bait.
