Hide/Disable Time Played
With Steam's recent push for accessibility, I'll shoot my shot here.

I have moderate levels of OCD that make the Steam playtime tracking feature actively distressing, particularly when using "Tools." I like leaving my tools open, whether they be for development, art, etc., and steam tracking my time on them makes me feel like I'm actively wasting my playtime if I'm needing to send it to the back for whatever reason. Games are different for me, and don't elicit this response, but not being able to leave tools open in the background if I need to do something else without it ticking up my playtime makes me not want to use the things I paid for. (Yes, this is a mental health issue, and is not rooted in rationality/reason even if I can tell myself it doesn't matter; I know this is a non-issue for the majority, but I can't control this.)

I am aware that "Mark as Private" hides hours played from other people, but that's not what I need - I need to hide the indicator entirely, or disable the time from ticking up. The only way to do this is just to go Offline, which still will track you internally, but will not update the display time. This shows that this feature is possible, and I would absolutely love to have a way to enable it without needing to turn my client Offline.

As someone who likes having all my things accessible easily in one place for various reasons, I don't want to have to buy from external stores and manually add them into steam in possible, I just want to use steam. I know I am just one person with OCD, but I have seen other posts over the years with other people wanting a feature like this and trying to figure out solutions, and even if not for accessibility for people like me with unique problems, having the option there would not hurt anyone. (If time played for reviews is a concern, simply use the internal time tracked instead of the display time.)

Thank you for any consideration.

I think you'll find there are plenty who would like the option to hide accumulated play time. Our reasons may differ, but the technical issue is the same. Displaying accumulated play time should be optional.
I think this kind of thing can be solved with a user stylesheet, at least for the library tab. I've never tried to reskin my Steam client, but you might have some luck with that before Valve implements this (if they do).

Needs to happen.
+1 :steamthis:
I find myself playing offline all too often to prevent myself from rushing through games rather than taking my time appreciating the environments and details.
