GoG Integration
When signing into Steam through GoG Galaxy, Steam shows perpetually as "offline".

Please fix this, or work with GoG on an official integration.

XBox & Epic already have their own official integration. It having a positive effect on Steam sales seems true to the distortion of mine. Users would feel less conflict about which service to buy a game. Steam already provides a better experience for customers, think do I.

You'd have to ask GoG, they handle their client GoG Galaxy, it has nothing to do with Steam and steam can't fix their software.

Steam provides the API's for other clients like GoG to integrate with them, but its up to those clients to do so properly.

Why?
GoG needs to do a better job of making Galaxy work with Steam.

Problems with GoG services need to be fixed by GoG, buckaroo. Steam isn't the Internet's handyman here to solve everyone else's problems.

And if xbox and epic integration stopped working would you ask Valve to fix that too? Gog integration is rather picky in terms of working with steam, I wouldn't expect it to work to great, just an fyi but that is cdpr's issue.

Asks for an *official* integration ...
... gets told it's not up to the company to do so.

Either there is a massive lack of reading comprehension going on or it's the usual "just because other companies are doing something, doesn't mean that Valve is capable of doing so" that some forum goers promote.

Indeed it seems there is, because said company is being asked to fix an issue with another companies service. And then said company is being asked to work with a competing company. Neither of which is said company's responsibility nor necessity to do whatsoever.

You should try reading the actual post, not just the title. He didn't ask for an official integration, he was reporting problems with the existing integration that already exists that GOG created.

There has to be, since you don't appear aware that he is asking about the existing integration GoG did using their public API's that allow anyone to connect and link the two.

If GoG screwed that up its on them to fix that, as Steam can't go into GoG galaxy and edit their code.

And naming to competing stores that already did ...

... and gets ridiculed for it.
Because it is completely unreasonable to do as others did, is it? Valve is such a tiny little insecure company they have to fear for their customers if they provided the user comfort of working with another platform that makes it way easier to keep all your games in one place.

Here is where not selectively editing the quote to remove the relevant parts comes into play

THIS is what the OP asked for that you removed from your quote.

So if you don't edit the quote to remove the stuff that proves you wrong you will see that the OP wants it fixed, which is why they presented the option of an official integration as a way to fix it.

Next time don't edit the quote to remove the parts that shows you are wrong, if you can't post the relevant points editing them out just looks bad.

Also telling the OP that steam cannot fix GoG's software is not ridiculing. They already provide the tools to do what he wants, GoG just did a crap job implementing them

It's not STeam/Valve's feature to fix.

Yeah that's nice bujt those sites are basically trying to backdoor into PC gaming proper. Valve gains literally nothing from the integration so why would they spend their time and money on it?

Also do Xbox and Epic have an official integration, or is Epic doing the same thing GoG is and using microsoft's API's.

Afterall EPIC lets you integrate to Steam as well which again is just using the API's available that many companies have.

Yes, its an official partnership. However the difference is that it enables cross platform play, which makes sense, and allows Fortnite to be on Xbox cloud gaming. Again, this all makes sense in terms of game play, and boosting Epic's failing store.

GoG and Steam having an official partnership only makes sense for GoG. It's completely unnecessary for Valve to partnership with a weaker competitor in such a way. It would make more sense for Gabe simply to buy GoG outright and make it a part of Steam.

Ok thx, wasn't sure on that or the scope, so its a minor integration
