Family share - Current problem
I have just tried playing a game that i bought. I am no longer the priority on it. Now i have to ask a friend to tell them get off the game so i can play it. this new system makes no sense,

Before if the owner of said game opened it the other users would get 5 min timer telling them to save the game and log off or they will be force quit out.

I do understand that i am sharing games and all that but now it seems unfair for those who have bought the game and now they have to wait to play the game they bought it because their friend is playing it.

I do like the new system that i don't have to log in with different accounts to share my games like it was before with that i also dint mind the priority que.

I had read that you can play them in the offline mode -> yes if you unplug your ethernet cable

Can valve / steam add that feature back with that it was sort of better back than with that rather now

Set the game as private or ask if they can respect you asking them to get off.

No, the system is there to share games with family members in the same household.

Not Friends.

That's your problem right there. Steam Families is intended solely for real families living in same household. Not friends, strangers, cousins, uncles or any other relative not living in your household. Sharing with anyone other than your direct family living with you in same household is abusing the system. No if's and no but's.

If you used the system as intended, you could simply walk to next room and ask your family member to get off your game so you can play.

Regardless of who its intended for, it does make sense that the owner would always have priority.

Just walk over to next room to your your family member who's playing and ask them politely stop playing your game and let you play instead. If politeness does not work, simply shut down they computer or pull the plug then go private the game from your computer. Problem solved. :lunar2019grinningpig:
