If you have a bank card to add to Google pay, you can add that card directly to Steam.

not everyone wants to directly use their bank card, for security purposes, one would rather use a card that isnt their bank card.

or for better security imo, one should use refillable, or gift cards, as thats even safer.

but also to add, not saving your payment info, goes even further on that safety front, when one might use a bank card, even if it is more of a hassle to have to keep putting in said info to make payments.

Google Pay only works by adding your bank card to it, same applies to Steam, that is unless you enter the information manually.

With how Google blocked logins from embedded browsers like Steam back in 2020, it would be hard to add their payment method that requires authentication in Steam, something they don't support.
