Steam Playtime Limits and Schedule
Steam Families appears to have introduced a feature for controlling playtime, restricting when a child account can play to a certain schedule. It also contains detailed playtime reports.

My suggestion is fairly simple - I'd love to be able to use this functionality directly on my main Steam account. As someone who can get carried away gaming in the evenings, having the ability to set a schedule after which games are turned off would be a very helpful nudge for me.

Currently the only way for me to take advantage of this new functionally seems to be to make a new child account and associate it with my main account. However, this would mean losing access to all of my cloud saves and achievements for existing games.

Since this functionality already exists, would it be possible to port it over to "normal" Steam accounts as an optional feature?

You know what, I am not opposed to this in the slightest. I'm not entirely sure how the feature works when you're in-game and then you hit the time limit, because shutting down a game mid-game seems a bit risky for losing unsaved data and such.

But overall, it'd be nice to be able to set an alarm clock of sorts for those who are more prone to losing track of time, or simply want to force themselves to be off the games and be more productive.
I'm not opposed to it either, but it's worth pointing out this would be a soft system. That is to say it works as a warning or heads up, but would not actually be enforceable. The way the system currently works is the child account can request more playtime when their time is over, which the adult can approve or deny. So as the adult account you can grant yourself indefinite time regardless of what limits you set. Just something to note there, but I do think just as a sort of alarm it could have some value.
