I've noticed a lot of games now use the "character customization" tag without any actual choices that change the player character in a meaningful way.

Since it's mostly become a way of saying "multiple outfits" rather than "allows customization of your character" the use of this tag feels like it toes the line of abusing the tag system. I'm not sure if I'm only now noticing this phenomenon, but it has become increasingly annoying — especially when I'm bamboozled into purchasing a title just to find out I'm locked into Billy Playerman.

I'd love to be able to sort out which games actually allow you to play as a woman PC or force you into playing a male.
