"Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat" HUGE BANNER
Some games are now using potential malware: "Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat".

This needs to be super highlited at the top of the page so people know the risk they are taking.

They're not gonna say the game gave me a virus, they're gonna say steam gave me a virus.

I nearly fell for it.

BIG juicy RED banner at the top of the screen screaming that the game uses "Uses Kernel Level Anti-Cheat" and a link to the risks. The games are all free to play anyway so no loss of $$$ for valve.

Once infected at kernal the only solution to be safe is a full format or even a new computer to be sure due to modern CPUs having on board permanent memory.

If I knew I would never have clicked to download it.

you might not trust the devs but think of it this way, if they did end up installing a virus the lawsuits that follow and the huge fines from various countries would destroy them.

That is why most companies simply stick to snooping or spying. The EULAs of software like that protect them from liability in those contexts anyway, assuming they do not simply say the victim received the virus elsewhere.

They can snoop all they want on my PC, Microsoft freely does that anyway and they have unrestricted access to absolutely everything, all they will find is my stash of XXX lol.

It's already in its own color coding. If people want to bullrush purchases, they will. Much like Early Access with the big blue box, people tend to ignore warnings unless they're actually an informed customer looking through the entire page for the product.

lets just put it this way, absolutely nothing in this world is secure BUT we are tiny, just a spec, just a number, I have absolutely no care if someone wants to install some kind of spyware or whatever and then spy on me as they are not gonna get much out of me apart from my horrid life of work, work, work, kids and a little bit of gaming. Now i would be bothered if i was working lets say in a nuclear facility, high up in the armed forces etc but as it stands my information is worthless.

If someone wants to clone my life then fair enough, more fool them they can have all my debts haha.

Nobody in this thread realizes most actual spyware is usermode, and a usermode process running elevated can see everything in your storage without any drivers. It can even go as far as opening your processes and reading the contents of your memory, and bypass file permissions by opening your drives for raw access.
