[h1]add option to disable updates
as a consumer there should be an option to disable updates on games, its ridiculous games that are like 10 years older receiving updates after modding the ♥♥♥♥ out of them and the update just breaks all your mods we the consumer should be in control wether we want to update a game or not its up to us the only way to disable updates is running steam on offline mode
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE GIVE US AN OPTION TO DISABLE UPDATES OR SKIP THEM

I would not hold my breath waiting for it as it's been proposed countless times since Steam was released.Steam was originally designed as an auto-updater for Valve's games and keeping games updated still remains one of the core features of Steam. Also as developers and publishers are Valve's most important customers, even if feature was implemented, the developers and publishers would still be given choice of forcing updates or not. They own and control the games, users are mere licensors.

How would implementing this feature benefit Valve, developers and publishers? For developers and publishers having everyone in same version makes it easier to debug and fix bugs and makes providing technical support easier. This feature would only increase costs for them.

theres an option to disable auot updates until launching games why theres no option to disable updates entirely this just suck its anti consumer you just wanna play games that you bought you open your pc and then boom a new update released we pay for games we want to play this just suck and whats worse is that they dont even let you downgrade the version single player games need an option to disable updates i dont care about mp games but they can give us option to disable updates for each game we choose if we want to update or not people need to speak about this why are you taking developers side when you spend 70 dollars in a game just for it to recieve 40 gb update the next day not everyone have fast wifi we used to be in control of our own games now we not in control over what we own im sick of people defending steam i want to own what i buy people need to speak out because in 2 years or more most games will be live service and people will lose full control over games they buy i just dont undrestand it people are defending everything wrong about the industry and they keep forgetting that they are just numbers all the major company their sole goal is to make money to maximize profit they rely on investors they get paid to make games but us the consumers its our hobby to play our entertainment if we dont fight back we will slowly lose that hobby sometimes updates will break games and soon after studios will get disbanded so these games will be left unplayable features like launching games without having to open steam or having an option to disable updates thats what the ♥♥♥♥ we need i dont know about you but i want to have control over the games i play i dont want to install a game then install a third party launcher just to play that game ♥♥♥♥ that why should i buy a game if i cant even have control over it updates will come bugs will happen after these updates sometimes it will be unplayable and then i have to wait for another 10gb update when i can just pirate the game and keep it in my computer locally playing it for how long i want and have all dlcs and you know developers and companies knowing that they can update the game after they release it is the reason why almost every new game is filled with bugs if buying isnt owning then pirating isnt stealing
Developers don't want you to waste their time with your complaints about bugs they already fixed.

Then don't buy games on Steam. The misinformed cliches aren't the flex you think they are.
