Separating base game and DLC achievements
Personally, I really like to earn achievements for my favorite games, but unfortunately, Steam shows base game and DLC achievements together. Sometimes, I and probably many others can’t tell if an achievement belongs to the base game or a DLC. It would be great if Steam had a system like the PS5 that categorizes achievements by each DLC separately.

DLCs can be categorized already. It's up to the devs to note that. For example, American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 indicate which DLC is required for certain achievements.

No, that’s not what I meant. Look—for example, take Skyrim. When I unlock an achievement like Kindred Judgement, which belongs to the Dawnguard DLC, I still see it mixed in with all the base game achievements. What I mean is that I want a completely separate tab or filter that only shows achievements for a specific DLC, not mixed in with the base game.

This is something enough devs need to push for, as they are the ones who would need to actually do the work to sort the achievements into the DLC if Valve really where to implement it

and that's something they do on PlayStation platforms

You asking for it, is not going to do anything here, as no matter how much you want it, unless Devs wants to implement it, it would never happen

Devs DO want to implement it but Valve does not allow it.

If that was the case, they wouldn’t do it on PlayStation platforms, because they can easily add new trophies to the base game with an update.

They don't, because it's not possible.
The only game that does something like it is Team Fortress 2 but the feature has never been available to anyone else.

ETS/ATS write the required DLC in the description. Which, yes is possible, but requires work, additional costs for translation and has you be mindful of character limits to display. "Shoot five supercaliffragiciouses enemies with the ultra super ultimate long arsed named rifle of exploding guts and sheeps while under the influence of buff of awesomeness and glory! (Requires ..." is not helpful after all. :P

They can't. A published trophy list cannot be altered. They have to create a new list for DLC and updates.
I guess, not quite sure what the point is TBS AlexDK is arguing. Users OR developers asking for a feature is obviously the way something new is added or something gets changed. And obviously not every studio or user is going to use the new thing.

And it makes it easy to cheese Platinums, I have Platnums on some games and only have 60% of the trophies, on Steam to get the top achivement, you need them all.

Came here to post the same thing. I can only imagine this gets posted 10 times per day.

I doubt mnost would, since most of the game devs don't care about achievements either. It's not odd that the majority of them are just progress trackers, "do X around Y time" and such not creative things.

Most devs tack on achievements because it's something on the checklist of "stuff people apparently care about", not because they want it.
