This would be a good QoL feature that even Discord has. If I'm typing in an area bound to a 1000 character limit, I should be able to see how many characters I have left to type in that area. Using a separate program to check how many characters I posted so I don't get slapped with the "You posted too many times so wait this unknown amount of time before trying again" when trying to shorten the post even though the post never went through in the first place to count as posted should not be a requirement to abide by the character limit.
